25w x 25h Do You Know Me? by Joan Osborn- Dunkle This 25"'x 25" is a collograph master plate from which images have been printed. No longer used as a printing surface I have chosen to frame it. It is made by overlaying heavy pieces of thick paper or whatever else I can find that will lie flat is glued in place. I add a coat of modeling paste and an acrylic medium and let dry. The plate is now ready to receive color which is adhered with rollers and then rubbed back down so that only a hint of the color is left. This process is repeated many times to achieve the beautiful patina that these pieces have. In the printing process after color is adhered to the plate the plate is placed on the bed of an etching plate...a damp piece of print paper is placed over it and it is pulled through the press. Because of this concept of using these plates as I have, they command attention with their incredible subtle color...a look that is not obtainable any other way. This and plates like this create a conversation piece for any room or office.
